The Golden Gurlz Award for Youth Church Involvement
- In memory of Mrs. Annie L. Scarbrough who served as a Supervisor to the Junior Usher Board at Lilydale 1st Baptist Church for over 65 years
- In honor of Mrs. Bertha M. Wyatt who has supported the development of Christian Youth at Lilydale 1st Baptist Church for over 65 years.
- $500 maximum annual award. Distribution is determined by Dec. Darnell T. Glenn and the UTMSF, Inc. Board of Directors
Eligibility
- Must be an active member of a Christian Church
- Must be an active member of a Youth Church Organization (Sunday School, Choir, Ushers, Health Unit, Dance Ministry, Mission, Youth Fellowship, Technology Team, etc.)
- Participation is sincere involvement is worshipful in nature and perpetuates the purpose within the organization.
- Must be nominated by an active member of the organization or adult sponsor/supervisor
- Must receive 3 letters of recommendation supporting the nomination from a combination of Church Ministers, Church Youth Organization Members, and/or Adult Organization Sponsors. Evidence to support the recommendation should be provided as a pdf or word document.
- Must provide a clear color picture (jpeg/tiff) involved with the organization (uniform, choir robes, activity related to the organization).
Award Presentation
The winner(s) will receive this award during the Black Heritage Sunday presentation in February of each year.
